Located in the municipality of Maravilla Tenejapa, Las Nubes represents one of the most untamed and beautiful natural frontiers of the Lacandon Jungle.
This ecotourism center is fed by the powerful Santo Domingo River, whose milky turquoise waters plunge with astonishing force through limestone formations. This creates a series of stepped falls and rapids that generate a dense cloud of white mist upon impact. It is precisely this constant mist that gives the site its name ("The Clouds"), wrapping the environment in a mystical atmosphere where the roar of the water is the absolute protagonist.

The biodiversity here is vibrant: it is common to hear the roar of howler monkeys and spot scarlet macaws or toucans among the monumental trees.

The Lookout is Key: Do not leave without climbing to the main lookout. Although the ascent requires physical effort, the view of the Santo Domingo River cutting through the jungle is arguably one of the top three postcards in all of Chiapas.
